Welcome!

I’m a writer, a creative entrepreneur, and someone who’s learned that life rarely follows a straight line, and that’s not a bad thing.

When I’m not writing, you’ll probably find me walking my dog, or binging my latest YouTube obsession. I live in Williamsburg, Virginia with my husband, Adam, and our husky, Kimber.

I grew up in Ypsilanti, Michigan, the youngest of five kids, which probably explains a lot. I never took the traditional path — I attended three different colleges over a decade and racked up a lot of credits, but no degree. Instead, I found my education through business: starting things, closing things, failing publicly, and learning how to keep going.

I’ve been married three times. I call the first my “starter marriage.” The second brought me to Virginia — and through a divorce, bankruptcy, and a DUI. I’m not proud of all of it, but I wouldn’t undo it either. That chapter led me to Adam, my husband and co-navigator through some of life’s tougher terrain. Together we built — and eventually walked away from — a business that left us with debt, grief, and a stronger partnership than we probably expected.

I believe business can be spacious, creativity can be healing, and reinvention is a strength, not a failure. My story proves it.

Professionally, I have been a Jack of All Trades. Most recently, I
I’ve worked as a coach, podcast host, strategist, and systems nerd for solopreneurs. But, I was trying to fit my voice into someone else’s framework. That’s when I found Human Design.

Learning how I’m energetically built gave me the language and tools to rebuild a business (and creative practice) that actually feels good. Now I’m helping others do the same, while writing the cozy mystery I always dreamed of but never thought I could until now.

“That was THE BEST newsletter for me, Sarah. I NEEDED to see those words, as I am similar to you–and have been feeling like a failure. This is inspiring to me!” – Christine D.

“Thank you for sharing your inner dialogue as you worked with that particular client. It’s valuable to hear that you have those stories running in your head, and it’s even more valuable to hear how you responded to your own stories.” – P.W.
